Profiles in Mass Effect Andromeda are covered on this page. Profiles have replaced the class system of past games and are specializations that can be swapped based on your focus for the current Mission

Profiles Information

Specialization results in play style bonuses such as improved damage with Weapons or Skills, giving titles similar to old classes like Adept and Vanguard. There will be benefits for specific specializations and the profiles can be ranked up as players progress, increasing their specialization effectiveness. Upgrading skills grants access to profiles, which grant bonuses to specific attributes and other perks as well. As you spend skill points in the areas that most reflect your personal playstyle you will unlock more powerful versions of the profiles.

There are 7 different profiles players can choose from and they are as follows:

Soldier

Soldiers are pure combat specialists. No one is tougher or more effective at taking down enemies with gunfire. This profile optimizes Ryder's mind and body for superior mastery of their armor and weapons.

Engineer

Engineers are experts at both offensive and defensive tech powers. This power reconfigures Ryder's implant, enabling them to maintain constant control of a small combat drone which assists and protects them in battle.

Adept

Adepts are biotic specialists, capable of disabling and killing enemies with powerful mass effect fields. This profile reconfigures Ryder's biotic implant, enabling them to defeat their opponents without firing a single shot.

Sentinel

Sentinels are unique combatants, bringing a mix of tech and biotic abilities to the battlefields. This profile creates a direct link between Ryder's implant and their armor's built-in computer systems, granting them additional protection via flash-forged shielding.

Vanguard

Vanguards have an aggressive combat style, preferring to close in on enemies and deal heavy damage at short range. This profile reconfigures Ryder's implant and physiology in subtle ways, allowing them to absorb energy from enemies on impact and shunt that energy into reinforcing their shields.

Infiltrator

Infiltrators are tech and combat specialists who typically focus on precise hits and avoidance. This profile enhances Ryder's mental and visual acuity, allowing them  to keep track of their enemies throughout a chaotic battle.

Explorer

The Explorer is a jack-of-all-trades, with abilities ranging from combat and tech to biotics. This profile reconfigures Ryder's mind and body to be as versatile as possible, permitting them to switch rapidly between firing weapons, deploying technology, and wielding biotic powers.

Favorite

Favorites allow immediate access to sets of powers and profiles and they can be changed at any time during combat. There are 4 favorite slots and each slot holds 3 powers and 1 profile. This gives players access to up to 12 powers and 4 profiles during the course of a single fight. Changing favorites puts powers in cooldown by default.

Favorites can be accessed from the action menu and configured in the Main Menu.

Rank

Every Profile automatically increase their rank as you invest more skill points in the respective areas. The sum of skill points required to reach a certain rank is the same for each profile (plus or minus one). The skill points must be equally distributed between each area for mixed profiles.

Profile rank Sum of skill points required
Rank 1 6
Rank 2 24
Rank 3 54
Rank 4 99
Rank 5 156
Rank 6 234

    • I added what I thought were some tips and tricks for each (the additions show up as Anonymous, because I didn't have a user/pass for Fextralife yet)

Overall, I tried to keep them as generic as possible, but still informative and specific enough for those who want less guesswork.
Either way, I hope this is useful.

If you like it and want to post it elsewhere, feel free to do so, just mention my name (CommanderAngel1) and you're all set.
